Here are our 26 baby chicks on the day of their arrival day of June 10th.  They are all so darned cute!  The middle chick is a White Wyandotte, and the chick to the right is a Light Brahma.  We also have Red Sex Link, Black Sex Link, Buff Orpingtons and one rare exotic breed that we got for free.  I think it is a Polish breed of some sort.  I'll let you all know for sure after it's grown.

Now, I have to tell you all a story.  First, you have to understand that I've never before been around chickens.  So everything I've learned has been from the internet.  So, on my birthday (3 days after getting the chicks), my dad called to wish me a happy birthday.  He then asked me what I was going to do for fun on my birthday.  I told him that I had to wash the chickens' butts', because they had what people call, "pasty butt".  There was complete dead silence on the phone.  Then he said, "Did you just tell me you were going to wash the chickens asses?"

I told him I guess I said that, but I didn't say it quite like that.

He said all disgusted and in disbelief,  "I lived on a farm growing up, and never in my life have I washed a chicken's ass, and you can bet that your grandfather never did either." Then he said to me (and I won't spell out the "f" word), "What the "f" is wrong with you?"  LOL!  I'm still laughing thinking about it!!!
